Open Education for French Teaching Micro-Credential

The Open Education for French Teaching Micro-Credential builds your understanding of Open Education and Open Pedagogy, including Creative Commons licensing and the difference between openly accessible and openly licensed resources. You will learn to identify and use open tools, reuse and remix content, and work with platforms such as H5P and Pressbooks. The course also focuses on designing and co-creating OER for teaching and professional development, while fostering collaboration, mentorship, and a shift toward more open, shared, and sustainable professional practices.

This program is designed to:

• Understand Open Education, Open Pedagogy, and Creative Commons licensing; distinguish between publicly accessible and openly licensed resources;
• Identify open tools and platforms (H5P, Pressbooks); reuse, remix, share, and AI in creating and using OER.
• Plan teaching and professional development using existing OER; create and co-author open resources;
• Foster collaboration, mentorship, and community engagement; support a shift toward open, shared, and sustainable professional practices.

The program was designed for educators specializing in French Language Acquisition and French as a Second Language for adults in professional development and from JK-12 to post-secondary settings.
